I’m the founder of JustWatt. I write the personal pieces here: the hands-on reviews, the founder posts, anything where my direct experience is the credibility anchor. The reference guides, calculators and comparison hubs come from the editorial team.
My background is in publishing, advertising and the green energy sector, with a long-standing weakness for interesting cars. I’ve spent years around motorsport, covering F1, Le Mans and NASCAR, which is where the enthusiasm started and the eye for detail came from.
JustWatt exists because I couldn’t find honest, plain-English answers when I was making these decisions for my own home. I electrified the house and hit the same wall every time: the information was either thin or came from someone with something to sell. A charger, an install, a scheme. I wanted the version where nothing was being sold, so I built it.
JustWatt earns affiliate commission on some recommendations, but we don’t base recommendations on commission rates. The methodology page explains how that works. If we’ve got something wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it in public.
The EV I’d actually want in the garage is a Lotus Evija. I’m a sucker for a supercar. JustWatt is firmly about the cars people can realistically buy and run, but that’s where the enthusiasm comes from.
