JustWatt is an independent UK guide to home electrification. We cover the buyer’s side of EV chargers, EV tariffs, salary sacrifice, electric cars and running costs, with heat pumps to follow. We don’t sell any of it.
That last point is the whole idea. Almost every site covering this space has something to sell: a charger, an installation, a finance scheme, a lease. We don’t. We have nothing to shift and no install slots to fill, which means we can tell you what we’d actually buy and why.
Why JustWatt exists
The site started with a gap. Our founder, Ross Wallace, went looking for honest, plain-English answers while electrifying his own home, and couldn’t find them. The information was either thin, buried in jargon, or written by someone with a product to sell. So he built the version he wanted: the one where nothing is being sold.
How we work
Independent, affiliate-funded, and honest about both.
- We don’t sell what we review. No chargers, no installs, no schemes, no leases. The independence is the point, not a footnote.
- Affiliate links are disclosed and never decisive. Some links earn us a commission when you buy through them. They never change a verdict or a ranking.
- Every number shows its working. Rates, tariffs and assumptions are cited and dated. If we can’t source it, we don’t say it.

Who writes JustWatt
Two bylines. Ross writes the first-person pieces: the hands-on reviews and founder posts where his own experience is the credibility anchor. The editorial team produces the reference content, the pillar guides, comparison tables, calculators and explainers that call for synthesised research and regular updates.
If we get it wrong
Tell us. We correct mistakes in public, with the date the correction was made. Get in touch.
